In memory of their little Noémie, who died of Krabbe disease, the Lordet family has been organising Noémie’s Hope Benefit Concert since 2003. This year, the concert took place on 4 May 2019 at the Baarburg Theatre (canton of Zug) with the support of the International School of Zug and Lucerne.
Bringing together a wealth of talent, the audience enjoyed a varied show ranging from choral singing to flamenco dancing. Performers included Élodie and Louis Lordet, ISZL Riverside Singers, Camille Haslin, Yuka Hayashi, Bel Canto Choir, ISZL Sinfonia, ISZL Jazz-band, ISZL Zug Campus Choir and HS Band Aid.
The performance ended with the traditional release of balloons, a symbol of hope for all the children affected by leukodystrophy.
At the end of the event, Adeline presented ELA Suisse with a cheque for CHF 3,360, and made the emotional announcement that this 17th edition would be the last. The ELA Suisse association would like to extend its heartfelt thanks to the Lordet family for organising this event, which has celebrated ‘life, music and children’s laughter’ for 16 years.
