From 29 to 31 May 2026, ELA Belgium organised a respite weekend at Disneyland Paris for 17 families affected by leukodystrophy. This initiative was made possible thanks to the funds raised during the “Watches for ELA” charity sale.

On arrival, each affected child and their siblings received a stuffed toy as a gift. This gesture particularly touched the families and now serves as a tangible souvenir of this exceptional weekend.

Throughout their stay, the participants had the opportunity to explore the Disney parks, enjoy the attractions, stroll through the enchanting surroundings and share special moments with their families.

On Saturday lunchtime, all the participants gathered for a cheerful meal together. This provided an opportunity for the families to chat, catch up and share their experiences, thereby strengthening the bonds that unite them in the face of disease.

Each family was able to organise their stay at their own pace, making the most of the hotel’s facilities, the swimming pool and the wide range of activities on offer.

This weekend offered a real break from the families’ daily routines, allowing them to escape, recharge their batteries and create precious memories together. These moments of happiness, togetherness and bonding will remain engraved in their memories long after the stay is over.

Sixty people were able to experience unforgettable moments and leave with memories that will stay with them for a long time to come.
