The 11th ELA Suisse Family Weekend took place from August 10 to 12 at the Hotel Cailler in Charmey (canton of Friborg). After taking possession of their room, the families found themselves in a good mood and conviviality to share the evening meal. A meeting dedicated to parents was held on Saturday morning, during which they were able to express themselves, discuss and learn about current events as well as future events related to the association. For the children, a dreamcatcher creation workshop was organised, at the end of which everyone was able to take home their creation.
In the afternoon, most of the families went to the Charmey Sports Center to compete in a friendly mini-golf tournament. Other participants preferred to relax in the Bains de la Gruyère basins.
For the evening, each guest was invited to dress up in the Charleston theme, which provided the opportunity to take some original souvenir photos. Young and old were also delighted to participate in the magic tricks performed during the Patrick Waltrick show.
Sunday morning, before the traditional group photo bringing together the large ELA Switzerland family, the children were dressed up by Séverine Lisa while the mothers received a relaxing massage. In the afternoon, the family weekendcame to an end. For parents and children affected by leukodystrophy, this stay allowed them to break away from everyday life and share pleasant moments.
