Our awareness campaign’Put on your sneakers and beat the disease’, supported each year by the French Ministry of Education, is offered to all schools, from primary to higher education. Since its creation in 1994, 4.7 million school children have been involved with us and have raised half of the funds committed by ELA to accomplish its two main missions: financing medical research programmes against leukodystrophies and supporting the families concerned. During the 2016/2017 school year, more than 500,000 students at all levels participated in our campaign! For this edition, Leïla Slimani, Prix Goncourt 2016, took part in the game by writing the ELA dictation which was read by Brigitte Macron!
